My name is Anna Truelove and I am a recent university graduate. At the end of last year I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Arts majoring in Criminology.
My most recent job position was a casual one at a children’s store in Armadale, Victoria. I was there for nearly two years, but I decided it was time for me to move on from this job and to find another position. From this role I have developed strong communication skills by learning how to communicate with both customers and work colleagues. My previous colleagues will also attest to the fact that I was a very hard worker, used my initiative and helped to create a much more organised environment within the store. I loved my time there, whether it was assisting customers, stocktaking or assisting the owners and management with anything they needed. I had a lot of different responsibilities in store including closing and opening the store, running parties, stocktaking, helping open a pop up store in Chadstone and being a team leader. I was often in charge of moving, sorting and organising stock as it arrived from the main warehouse. In busy periods my manager and teammates relied on me to arrange our stockroom so that everything had been counted and organised. I was also reliable in driving sales, and promoting membership into our VIP database.
Furthermore, from my studies I have a high level of experience with all Microsoft office software, time management and written skills, and skilful organisational assets. My course also offered me great decision-making skills and I am able to learn new skills extremely fast.
Also, I have been lucky enough to travel quite a bit throughout my time at university, whether that was an exchange program, group or solo travel. Through my travel I have been able to test my comfort zone and have definitely developed a desire to explore. These qualities allow me, in my both personal and work life, to be able to adapt to new positions and environments, be a team player and have a willingness to learn and experience new things.
Through dedication and commitment, I know that I can be a valuable asset to any company and use new positions as an opportunity to further develop my learning as well.
