About Harshavardhana

I am an Electronics Engineering graduate, currently pursuing Masters of Engineering in Sustainable Energy. As a part of my research internship at SCANIA Automotive Industry, I conducted a feasibility study on the use of ethanol and biodiesel in Bangalore metropolitan city, India. Before enrolling for my masters, I worked at Amazon as a risk investigator (TRMS). For my final year project, I built a low-cost portable speaking device for the mute using EMG and EEG signals.
During my undergrad, I engaged myself in organizing college fests and events throughout my academic term. I was part of the college electronics club. The highlight of which is the RoboRace competition where I built a radio-controlled motor car. I captained my college football team and took part in various collegiate tournaments. I also actively took part and won various DOTA gaming competitions hosted by my college.
I worked with various socially disadvantaged communities to improve their living conditions. I organized a dry food drive to support slum settlements where I, along with my team collected and distributed 300 kgs of rice and lentil supplies. I volunteered to tutor High School students in Mathematics with Parikrama, a non-profit. From time to time, I continued to volunteer my time on the weekends at various NGOs and conducted collection drives for food, clothes, stationery, etc.
I’ve consistently participated in various workshops and seminars to broaden my outlook. The recent one being Global Leadership Experience by Common Purpose, a 4-day workshop which focused on the current challenges in Melbourne, like how to turn Melbourne into a smart city in terms of it’s inclusivity and public safety. As part of it, we visited organisations like Vicdeaf ( a non-profit for people with hearing disability) to understand the difficulties they encounter in their daily life. My team’s idea for this challenge won the people’s choice award. My experience in these communities inspires me to improve the standard of living using the power of technology.
