About Gemma
In addition to my current Higher Ed program I have completed a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Business (Public Relations). I have had experience as an office all-rounder for a small family business in the trades industry (stone mason). In this role I was mostly first point of contact and communicated with clients/potential clients on all channels, as well as completing reception tasks and administration duties.
I have experience as student volunteer with the college of business (RMIT) where I have participated with our school's social booth activities, events and campus tours and am close to completing 30 hours of participation.
I have practical experience in social media content management through my participation in a four month social media internship with start-up Mama Nattura. In this position I maintained an active Instagram and help strategize with the owner of the company. In addition I have par took in several different programs within RMIT to further develop my soft skills and employability such as; completing RMIT online Creds, participating in the Future Edge Program and Common Purpose Global Leadership Experience. During my time in vocational education I have had the opportunity to work with real life companies during assignment based briefs. There I've had the opportunity to create marketing and digital marketing briefs and present them to companies to potentially integrate into their existing marketing strategies. My biggest accomplishment during this time was placing third within an assignment based competition on internal communications run with Metro Trains.
I am constantly expanding on my extra-curriculum activities and I hold a Marketing Officer position with student run/RUSU affiliated networking group CAINZ.
