About Dino
Hi! I'm currently a student at La Trobe University studying a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science double degree majoring in Communication Studies and Computer Science. I'm also studying Japanese as part of my degree.
That probably sounds like a weird combination, but one of my true passions is to learn. I value learning and am always looking for new ways to challenge myself and understand the world around me. I have also been the recipient of the Pro Vice Chancellor's award for Academic Excellence during my time there.
This course has enabled me to work together with many amazing people who have all sorts of talents and skills. I have had lots of fun working with different groups of people to achieve many things, whether it be a short news story or a functional website. It is incredibly rewarding to both learn from different people as well as for me to be a part of their learning.
One of the most memorable experiences I have had is being a part of the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation Youth in Philanthropy program. I, along with five other students from my school, volunteered to be a part of this program. We had the immense responsibility of distributing $15,000 of the Foundation's funds among three charities. We had to assess each charity's need for the money and divide the funds in a way that we felt would yield the best possible outcome. It was an incredibly challenging thing to do but certainly was a rewarding and memorable experience.
I also work as a Student Ambassador at La Trobe, representing the university along with a wonderful team of students at major events such as the VCE and Careers Expo and Open Day. I've also been fortunate enough to have had some experience working with the Digital Marketing team at La Trobe during my time there.
Working as a Student Ambassador has allowed be to keep a level head in high-pressure environments and has enhanced my customer service skills. I have gained valuable experience in public speaking and have become more confident when dealing with people, which has set me up well for my future career.
