About Sara
Currently, I am a third year student at the University of Melbourne studying the Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance and Management. Through my experiences in corporate finance, talent management, marketing and customer service, I have become a driven team player who is passionate about strategic thinking and making an impact.
As part of my university experience, I have been involved in both digital marketing and talent management in a student committee – AIESEC, a non-for-profit youth-run organisation striving for leadership development. I found my passion for talent and strategic management through my position as Human Resources Officer at AIESEC. In this role, I took initiative to make the productivity tracking system more efficient, while planning support projects that maintain member engagement. To gain further understanding and skillsets in the area of management, I am currently taking Project Management and Strategic Management units, where I learn to use tools such as Microsoft Project and Crystal Ball.
Previously, I was a Corporate Banking Intern at the Bank of China (Shanghai), where I conducted market analysis of big enterprises and gained insight into the elements of writing a letter of credit. This role required attention to detail as well as depth of research, I particularly enjoyed analysing an enterprise through various perspectives and learning more about their industry. Working in the Shanghai office also allowed me to collaborate with individuals in a different cultural environment.
Some of my academic and personal achievements include an award for the UNSW Australian Economics Competition (credit), Australian Maths Competition (distinction) and Service to the College Award (PLC). I was also a former competitive player in badminton and hockey, as well as an active participant in a local council’s volunteering program.
