About Fu
Currently, I am the final-year student of Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in actuarial studies in University of Melbourne. By taking statistics, probability and commerce subjects, I have acquired comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Matlab and R Studio to help me in collecting, analysing and interpreting data. Having good analysing, problem solving and critical thinking skills, I could also adapt to a new working environment easily and be able to work under pressure.
In 2017, I have been awarded the Dean's Honour List and State Chamber of Commerce Exhibition for Intermediate Macroeconomics Award 2017. As a high achieving actuarial student, I will also be recommended for exemption in CT1, CT2, CT3 and CT7 from Institute of Actuaries of Australia. I believe I will be able to gain exemption in CT4 and CT5 after graduation.
By volunteering in ROC Race, I have developed service orientation and communication skills in distributing more than 1000cups of water to the participants. Volunteering as an event crew in AUG Study Expo, I have learnt how to enter, edit and manage customers' data using CRM. Moreover, I have developed collaboration and teamwork skills by communicating and working closely with team members. Participating in BCom Case Competition, I learned to respect other members and tried to foster an opened environment for discussion. So, I not only gained experience in projecting future cash flow and doing internal and external analysis of the company, but also developed my collaboration and teamwork skills.
As a Malaysian, I know five languages such as English, Chinese, Malay, Cantonese and Hokkien. My ability to speak different languages will also help me to work and communicate effectively with my team members during work.
