I like creating things that help make life easy. My areas of interest are wearable tech, virtual and augmented reality and sustainable living.
I am currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering focused on Product Design. I chose this course because I believe when creating things, they should be functional (using engineering skills) as well as usable (using product design skills), otherwise what's the point?
The highlight of my extracurricular activities was my time in Robogals, an organisation that helps promote STEM to girls in primary and high school by running workshops which included programming Lego robots. During my time in the organisation I ran workshops for over 1000 girls.
The two most successful competitions I took part in were the Telstra Construct Now Hackathon (2nd place) and the Accenture Digital Revolutions Challenge (1st place).
For the Telstra Hackathon my team and I created an augmented online shopping experience where customers could try before they buy in the comfort of their own home. This lead me to pursue an internship with a virtual and augmented reality film production company where I modelled assets and environments to be used in the experiences.
The Accenture Digital Revolutions Challenged awarded me an internship in their Digital area which helped me develop my skills in user experience and user interface design.
Other experiences I've had include aircraft maintenance at Moorabbin airport and designing a flat pack educational robotic arm.
