About Khaliah
I am a recent graduate of Marketing and Communications at University of South Australia (UniSA). I also have a Advanced Diploma in Screen and Media Studies with a major in production and a minor in editing at MAPS (Media Arts Production Skills). After film school I became a freelance production designer, producer and editor and liaised with local and interstate production companies and freelance filmmakers. These experiences lead me to work with the South Australian Film Corporation under the Aboriginal initiative.
During my tertiary education I enrolled in a three week intensive course at Michigan State University in America and studied social media for business marketing. This amazing experience provided knowledge in constructing marketing plans, business plans and content strategies for online platforms.
Towards the completion of my degree I applied for an internship at USASA (University of South Australia Student Association) Advocacy. During the internship I learnt about the organisation and how they assist students with academic issues. I also learnt vital skills in professional and personal development. After the internship I was offered employment as an Advocacy Programs Assistant. My current job consists of assisting interns during the USASA Advocacy internship, proof-reading documents and assist in creating marketing initiatives. To promote the organisation and showcase the service USASA Advocacy offers I was able to get my hands dirty and produce a video campaign. The video campaign will be previewed at a university conference in Brisbane this year.
