About Daniel
I am about to complete my undergraduate degree in accounting, having completed all of the accounting majors and core subjects. Other than majoring in accounting, I have also minored in forensic accounting. I currently hold a Distinction average and have received several awards which are listed below:
The areas of accounting which I am most interested in would have to be Forensic Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, and Audit and Assurance. I would be open to undertaking an Honours and/or Masters Degree in accounting in the future, completing my CPA/CA and gaining valuable work experience in the accounting industry.
I am currently employed as an Online Supervisor at Woolworths Supermarkets across several stores within Melbourne. This role entails communicating the managers' expectations with the Online Team, ensuring the employees are reaching their performance targets, working as a team to come up with innovative ways of overcoming obstacles and increasing efficiency, providing feedback and constructive criticism, dispatching tax invoices, reporting the results to the Online Manager, and providing exceptional customer service under any circumstances that is beyond the norm.
I was also an Accounting Intern for approximately one month with GBS Accountants. The responsibilities associated with this role included the preparation and analysis of BAS Statements, Balance Sheets as well as Profit and Loss Statements for individuals, small companies and on some occasions Caltex Australia. This internship also involved record keeping, data entry, advanced use of Microsoft Excel, processing tax returns, general administration, and always reporting to the Principal Accountant.
This experience along with my studies in accounting has enabled me to acquire skills that would be essential in the accounting industry such as analytical skills, technical skills, problem solving, effective written and verbal communication, time management, high attention to detail, teamwork, leadership, resilience, adaptability, and organisation.
My aim is to utilise the skills and knowledge that I have obtained through my extensive supervisory and customer service experience as well as my studies in accounting in a professional accounting environment at the Australia Post.
I volunteer as a member of the Commerce Students' Association (CSA) at La Trobe University. The general tasks involved with this role include sending emails and social media notifications to all commerce-related students of any upcoming social or career events, and setting up social activities that promote the CSA.
I have vice-captained the Craigieburn Eagles Senior Football Club for two consecutive years, I enjoy learning about and immersing myself into different cultures, I like to interact and socialise with new people, family and friends, and I am interested in trying new foods.
If you would like to find out anything else about myself, feel free to view my LinkedIn profile.
