About Shane

I have operated and managed successful and thriving businesses for several multi-national organisations, and large family companies. My experience has been centred around both hospitality and retail environments, managing both the operations and team functions throughout. I have excellent team management skill, having to train, develop and coach staff in a continual capacity. The varied styles of establishment have given me an extensive working history with different practises and procedures, where I am able to quickly master, and educate colleagues as needed. Business skills that I acquired from hospitality environments, were successfully established in the retail ventures I have been involved in during the last number of years. The ability to control and guide staff as to the needs of the business, and to foster and mentor team members development were immediate applications that created strong relationships. I am highly organised and time efficient, being able to achieve several projects and tasks, in conjunction with maintaining a hands on and reactive behaviour with the day to day operations of the business. This shows through to my productivity characteristics and behaviours, as this allows me to be informed, aware, planned and ready ahead of schedule, ultimately providing the customer with a more than expected experience. I am known to be enthusiastic and energetic, always encouraging others to shine, whilst being able to enjoy their work life at the same time. I am a continual learner, always educating myself further on methods, successes or failures, operational or asset functions and abilities, and always problem solve challenges focusing on the result and the outcome expected.I find extreme value in being able to learn from mistakes, where a solution is trailed to ascertain its effectiveness to a problem, a coordinated trail period of multiples of responses provide valued witness accounts of part that either didn't work or the ones that were effective. By seeing the trails in progress, a better sense of operations is gained through trail and error examples.
