About Alen

I am currently pursuing my postgraduate degree in Supply Chain and Logistics Management at RMIT University, expected to graduate by June 2019 with full time working rights for the next two years. I have undergone academic training during my coursework and is proficient in concepts relating to enterprise systems (SAP Business ByDesign), inventory management and supply chain principles. Moreover, I’m currently the Inventory/Stock Coordinator at SisterWorks Inc, which is a social enterprise, producing in-house products ranging from accessories, body care, clothing to jewellery, toys and food. At SisterWorks, I manage and control the inventory levels, conduct continuous improvement processes, generates purchase orders, and conducts branch transfers of inventories through various sales channels including online and retail stores with the help of Cin7 inventory management software. In addition to this, physical count of products in inventory are taken periodically to crosscheck with the system to improve the accuracy of reports generated. Being a proactive person, I also help SisterWorks in organising and carrying out a few other functions relating to CRM and Accounting modules. Moreover, I believe in giving back to society, and this encouraged me be a volunteer warehouse assistant at the Australian Red Cross Warehouse at Sunshine, where I contributed to the smooth running of daily operations of their supply chain and warehouse activities.
During my postgraduate tenure at RMIT University, I was able to prove my leadership and communication skills through various programs and have been recognised by RMIT for my efforts. Being a person who always likes to grow by learning and sharing, encouraged me to participate in various mentoring partnerships both as a mentor and mentee. I am an active mentee to programs such as RMIT Mentoring and Supply Chain Logistics Association of Australia Mentoring program. In addition to that, I am acting as a mentor to my peers at RMIT University through SLAMs (Student Learning Advisor Mentoring) program, supporting them in understanding the subject and achieve better grades. I am also an active member of the Student Ambassador program and Student-Staff Consultative Committees at RMIT, which aims to improve the student life of my peers. In addition to this, I was selected to represent RMIT (team) in the SAP ERPsim Asia Pacific Cup, where we competed as virtual businesses leveraging the benefits of SAP Hana and SAP Lumira platforms. I am also part of the winning team, of the COSBOA Innovation Game Challenge organised by Paddl Co and EnergyAustralia in 2019.
