About Calvin

I am eager to get into the workforce and learn from a variety of individuals. My skills have been obtained through being raised in environments where the people around me have been just as intelligent as myself, from attending a selective-entry high school to completing a Bachelor’s degree in the 74th best ranked University in the world (according to Times Higher Education 2017). I am currently studying Masters of Management (Human Resources) at the University of Melbourne and am expected to graduate in Dec 2019. This means that I possess and understand the skillsets and mind a great person has, and will be able to bring out the best in my work. The ability to effectively manage my time is not new to me, as my three-year tertiary education life involved juggling studies, a part-time job, church responsibilities, and playing in a basketball team. As it is important to stay busy and complete new tasks, my attitude towards life is to think about how tasks can be done faster and better. Although I function effectively in a rapid lifestyle, I always make time for friends and family who come to me for support because I am easy to talk to and good at listening. Furthermore, I do not have any problems with relocating throughout the country and am free to travel anywhere.
I have 4 years of experience as a shift supervisor, where I have found that I am a task-oriented player who respects superiors and subordinates. This experience has brought me an appreciation that every person matters in the organisation and they are all contributing their own part. In my case, it is a goal of mine to be able to contribute to the improvement of a workplace through harnessing the potential in employees. I believe my success in this role was due to having strong mentors, and I believe I will be able to harness this to the max in your organisation. Times can be tough when managing a team during busy periods or when staff are not present, however, I always maintain a positive can-do attitude. I believe that all tasks can be completed if organised correctly.
