About Angela

Tasmanian Softies My daughter and I came up with the idea of making softies after we were saddened by the news that the Iconic Tasmanian Devil may become extinct from the devastatingly awful Devil Facial Tumour Disease. We did not want to see the Tasmanian Devil go extinct like the Tasmanian Tiger.
My daughter Harriet is an Artist & Designer, she has an honours degree in Fine Arts , Runner up in the Tasmanian Portraiture Prize and Finalist in the Henry Jones Art Prize. Harriet designed the softies in 2012. She has a very unique style . All of our Softies are a little bit quirky but you can still recognise the animal or bird. We think this brings life and certainly character to our Softies. I am Angela I have been sewing most of my life , working for clothing party plans as the machine sewer and making dance costumes for a Dance company. I hand sew and machine sew the Softies and manage the day to day business. We wanted to embark on a business so that we could help in our small way by donating 10% of sales to the Save the Tasmanian Devil Appeal. We absolutely love Tasmanian Devils and certainly do not want to see them become extinct through the absolutely devastating Devil Facial Tumour Disease.
We have also adopted a real life devil from Devils in Danger and Zoodoo and are waiting to see what our devil looks like.
We know that some of our hand made Tassie Devil softies have already found homes around the world.
We also take photos with our Tasmanian Devil Softie around our wonderful State of Tasmania and take photos with our " Tassie Softie" whenever we can. We encourage friends and followers of Tasmanian Softies to share their own travel photos with us on Facebook . It’s great to see and so much fun.
