About Rahul

I am a penultimate year graduate student at the Chemical Engineering department of the University of Melbourne pursuing Master of Engineering (Chemical with Business). Prior to my graduate studies, I pursued my undergraduate degree in Chemistry from one of the premier research institutes of India – Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal. This undergraduate qualification has come out to perfectly supplement my tertiary studies in Chemical Engineering at all times.
Keen on developing a broader skill-set, I have always taken up roles in a variety of domains that range from Consulting to Data Analysis through Chemical Engineering. I have been part of the highest-paid (and therefore most sought after) internship program of University of Melbourne and I have also assumed the responsibility of a Consultant in the world’s largest university-based consultancy – 180 Degrees Consulting. I believe such a diverse work experience reflects strongly on my flexibility, adaptability, and ability to learn quickly. Needless to say, this work experience has come a long way in honing my analytical and problem-solving skills.
Moreover, I have also worked casual roles in Health and Hospitality sector which has improved my soft skills like communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills at all levels. Although I am heavily involved in the aforementioned extra-curricular activities alongside my full-time graduate coursework, I maintain a strong Weighted Average Mark of 85.66 which I believe, speaks highly of my organisational and time-management skills.
In addition to the paid work experience, I have been involved in volunteering activities in several sectors too. My volunteering experience so far has greatly improved my emotional intelligence. It has been instrumental in honing my leadership as well as communication skills and has shaped me into a great team-member.
All in all, my outstanding academic record and extensive involvement in extra-curricular activities reflect strongly on the perfect blend of technical as well as non-technical skills which I believe will help me make the most of any opportunity that may come my way at this stage in my career.
