About Amanda
I am a lifelong learner who has obtained various certificates, diplomas and degrees in community welfare and youth work. I have worked in these industries for almost 15 years in a variety of roles. I have worked in youth refuges supporting homeless young girls; in a youth centre supporting young people who had been recently released from custody to integrate back into society and reduce recidivism; supporting young people who had left Out of Home Care; as an Education Worker running Links to Learning program that supported at risk youth from disengaging from school;as a Saver Plus Coordinator delivering Australia's longest financial literacy program Saver Plus to the Fairfield, Liverpool and Holroyd Local Government Areas, facilitating MoneyMinded financial lteracy training; supporting tenants who were at risk of being evicted from community and social housing; working as a coordinator for the No Interest Loan Scheme and assessing loan applications, disbursing funds, motinoring loans and working with community agencies to deliver the NILS program.
I have actively played sport including netball, soccer and competing at Rifle Metallic Silouhette target shooting at a state and national level.
I am passionate about learning and education and belive that by having the necessary skills can support people to overcome adversity and achieve the best possible life outcomes while building resilience.
