I hold a First Class Honours Masters degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research (2014) and a PhD in Mathematics (2019) from Queen’s University Belfast. I am currently working as a Mathematics Postdoctoral Researcher in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Mathematical and Statistical Frontiers at the University of Adelaide.
My research focus is on developing new Mathematical and Statistical methods for modelling healthcare data. For my PhD I developed a new type of simulation modelling tool to understand the activity in hospital emergency departments and experiment with strategies to reduce waiting times.
Currently, my healthcare projects include modelling dependence in queues, discrete event simulation of hospital activity, and real-time monitoring the status of hospital emergency departments.
I am interested in combining Mathematics and Design Thinking tools to develop solutions that can be used to achieve impact and improvement in healthcare systems.
