About Nicholas
In my final year of a Bachelor of Communications (Creative Writing), Bachelor of International Studies (Chile) double degree, I have had extensive experience marketing, editing, and social media.
Continuous involvement in University Societies, namely the UTS Debating Society and the UTS United Nations Society, has brought me a range of experiences and skills. Senior positions such as President, Treasurer, and Marketing Officer enabled me to develop key skills, including leadership, teamwork, time management, sales, Excel, communications (social media) and presentation skills, critical thinking, and adaptability. This skills were further expanded by wining Univative 2020, a consultation competition focused on an actual business presenting a problem, in our case marketing, and our team, randomly allocated having four weeks to create and pitch a solution. This further enhanced teamwork, independent working, adaptability and marketing skills.
A year of exchange in Chile further enabled me to develop my cross-cultural communication skills and adaptability as I had to quickly adjust to completely new way of living. Other experiences, such as being an Exhibition Host for Biennale 2020 allowed me to have sales experiences, answering questions of the public and engaging with them about the art. While being a debating coach at Masters Academy and a peer mentor for UTS allowed me to improve teaching skills, communications (especially public speaking), and mentoring.
