About Clint

Born and raised right here in Tassie, I have been creating since I was a lad and causing a ruckus for as long as I can remember.
I discovered a keen interest in design at college in 2005 and 2006, and pursued it for a short period thereafter. However, I felt a significant emptiness after only a couple of years and walked away from my creativity for some time.
My first exploration away from design was through serving five years in the Australian Army Reserve. I joined the oldest continually serving Royal Australian Artillery unit in the country, 16th Field Battery. Both my Grandfather and Uncle served in the same unit, a fact that I state with immense pride.
Leaving the hurry-up-and-wait of the military. I then spent close to seven years skating to become a Wizard. No, not the kind seen in cinematic epics or children’s books but a Wizard of Aus in the Australian Men’s Roller Derby Team. The Wizard’s motto is “you shall not pass”, and anyone who knows roller derby really appreciates the irony.
During my time in both the military and roller derby communities, I did small design projects from patches and t-shirts, to complete team uniforms. It was this combination of odd jobs that inevitably led me back to design.
In 2018 I left my full time retail management position, a career which spanned almost 15 years, and launched into 2019 ready and raring to update my skill set and qualifications at Foundry in Hobart.
It is this decision that has led me to where I am now, still working to complete an Associate Degree of Applied Design which I am supplementing with a healthy serving of freelance work.
The one thing that has always driven me, and has become exceptionally clear since re-starting my education at Foundry, is having a measurable, and meaningful impact on people. Whether that be through a friendly conversation or by creating something incredible though collaboration, doesn't bother me, what I strive to create is positive experience that everyone can walk away from feeling happy!
Say G'Day sometime, I'd love to hear from you!
