I work in state government and have established sustainability and wellbeing groups and encouraged our organisation to walk the talk environmentally. For example I have initiated a staff bike trial to reduce taxi and car journeys in the city, supported staff to develop a highly productive car park veggie garden, implemented a green wall and wicking beds at work. Recently I led a programme to repurpose staff uniforms following a branding change, over 500 items have been redirected from landfill to date, with zero wastage. I am passionate about sustainability and exploring the barriers to reduce textile waste in government uniforms but also across a wider field for sportswear and private business uniforms and branding. These projects are all additional to my role as a planner. I'm also a community rep for my local council, on their sustainability advisory group.
