About Lachlan

I graduated from Deakin University in October 2017, completing a Double Degree studying a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science and a Bachelor of Business (Sports Management). The business side of my degree has always been a preferred interest of mine, and is something that I would like to make further progressions on in the near future. Throughout my University degree, I was able to increase my knowledge most notably in the marketing industry, where I had a number of internship positions and part-time employment in the field.
I completed an internship as a Marketing Brand Ambassador with TT Marquet, a product marketing company. I was responsible for the distribution of content through social media channels, most notably Facebook and Instagram. I was also involved in website creation and was exposed to the elements of direct marketing where I was responsible for communicating to individuals and other retail businesses about the TT Marquet product offering. I also spent 3 months at the end of 2017 as an intern in the merchandise division with TLA Worldwide, a sports marketing, management and events company. I learnt a diverse range of skills within the sales, marketing, production and logistics division of the department. I advanced my digital literacy skills in my time at TLA, where I had an excellent understanding on Microsoft Office applications, most notably Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. I also worked with CRM databases to update information within the production pipeline. Furthermore, I had a part-time job as the Marketing Coordinator with Boost Sports, a junior sports holiday program, where it was my responsibility to generate interest in the program. This was mainly achieved through direct marketing, through outbound telephone communication, email and personal school visits to discuss the details of the program. My hobbies include sport, the outdoors, and engaging in community projects, where I have volunteered some of my time with the organisation FareShare, who assist with providing food to the homeless. It has been a clear focus of mine to not limit my skills and experiences just in the area of sport and as a result, I believe that with the addition of my University degree, where I graduated with a Distinction average, I can further expand my career within the marketing industry.
