About Allan
A thriving Transportation Engineering student eager to contribute to the society by building sustainable transport networks. Driven by a passion for advancing, I am looking for professional experience in Transport Planning and Traffic Management. Being a firm believer of hard work and perseverance, I believe that nothing is impossible. During my undergraduate degree, I used to work for Fettle Engineering Consultancy. As an Intern, my roles included design and drafting concrete and steel structures, and cost estimation of projects. After my graduation in Civil Engineering from India, I moved to Melbourne to pursue my post-graduate studies at Monash University.
Currently, in the final year of my master’s degree in Transportation Engineering, I wish to build my career as a Transport Planner. My interest in Transportation Engineering grew in my undergraduate years. As a result, my final year project was about understanding Driver Behaviour on Curves using naturalistic driving study (NDS). With my high data analytic skills, I could make commendable contributions to my team in developing a prediction model for driver behaviour on curves.
Furthermore, my experience in conducting Road Safety Investigation has given me insights into crash data analysis and accident prevention techniques. As a curious transport engineering student, I never miss a chance to explore new areas of transportation. My other experiences in the field include being part of a travel survey team to understand travel patterns of people who rely on public transport in Victoria. Also, I have been part of a traffic impact analysis study for a proposed development in Clayton.
Outside the university, I work as a private tutor for students who need personal attention. The subjects I deal with are Math and Science. I feel lucky and proud that I get an opportunity to make an impact on aspiring young minds. The sense of meaning and satisfaction that I derive when I work with children is what keeps me motivated in my ups and downs. Also, I work as a teacher for Code Camp, which conducts camps around Australia for children who have a passion for Coding and App development. However, my interest to work with children started when I began volunteering for Robogals. By conducting workshops around Victoria, we encourage young women to pursue a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
