About Elise

Hi there! My name is Elise Carrotte and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I'm currently completing my Master of Psychology (Clinical) at Australian Catholic University. I am completing this course on a part-time basis, and will complete my full course requirements in June 2018. I am hoping to find part-time or casual work in psychology or a related field while I complete my studies, with the potential of longer term employment.
I would be a valuable addition to your team; I am motivated, honest, and thorough, and I strive to be a reliable employee with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. I am a compassionate person, a good listener and fast learner, and able to provide creative solutions to problems.
I am an experienced Research Assistant, working in this role for four years, primarily in youth health research. Through this role, I have developed strong time management skills, and have effectively worked both individually and in team environments. This role helped me refine my research skills, including research design, data analysis, and academic writing.
Through my course, I have completed two clinical placements so far. My first placement was at the Melbourne Psychology and Counselling Clinic in 2016. This placement involved delivering both assessment and intervention services to a diverse range of clients. Assessment services included cognitive, academic and clinical assessments for child, adolescent and adult clients. Clients were seen face-to-face for information-gathering interviews, assessments and feedback sessions, where written reports were delivered to clients. I recently completed my second placement at the Clinic for Healthy Eating and Weight, which involved involved administering treatment for eating disorders for eight women based on cognitive behavioural principles.
I am passionate about working with and empowering young people and those in vulnerable communities. I previously volunteered at headspace Elsternwick between 2012-2015. This role involved mental health promotion, running community events, contributing towards social media campaigns, and youth consultation. This role involved a leadership position from 2013-2014 and casual volunteering in 2015. I have a strong interest in LGBTI+ advocacy; I am a member of the Victorian AIDS Council Mental Health Professional’s Network and have attended two conferences related to this diverse community.
In the past, I have been awarded several scholarships, including those for academic achievement and community leadership (through Monash University) and to attend interstate conferences (through the LGBTI+ Alliance). I was also the Dux of Year 12, 2009, achieving an ENTER score of 98.50. I hold a current GPA of 6.75, scored on 7.0 point scale.
My personal interests relate mostly to creative arts. I am an avid reader and enjoy creative writing. I enjoy drawing and painting, particularly with watercolours, and sell my work online on a casual basis. I also enjoy cooking, television, and watching a wide variety of films and television shows.
I would be grateful to receive information regarding employment opportunities. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or queries.
