About Sally
Hello! My name is Sally Fiddes and I'm currently studying in my final year of a Bachelor of Communication Design.
I love being creative and am very passionate about the design world. I am actively seeking employment in the design industry in order to continue to develop my experience and further advance new creative skills.
I'm in the process of researching where to pursue my love for design and I am equally excited about the journey to get there. I love the hands-on aspects of creativity and being able to use inspiration and style to produce awesome design!
I've actively pursued some incredible experiences and opportunities during the course of my studies and feel I've built a diverse portfolio as a result. I was chosen to receive funding from RMIT to travel to London and participate in the London Design Festival in 2017. This allowed me to work with local and international designers, as well as attend workshops and events where I learned new skills, both as a designer and by collaborating with an inspirational team.
I have a very strong work ethic and love to really test the boundaries and come up with new ideas. I just recently finished a three month internship at Nova Entertainment radio station, where I was challenged to create work for real clients, as well as work alongside a digital design team of ten others. I’m very proud of some of the campaigns I created there and, working in such a fast paced environment really established my ambition to continually work to a high industry level standard.
Outside of design work, I thoroughly enjoy reading mystery novels and have a very strong interest in true crime. I’ve also worked as a bartender over summer and found I loved working in a fast paced environment and experimenting with making cocktails. I became a highly valued member of the bar team and also was given the responsibility of designing the bar chalkboards. This experience heightened my confidence and ability to converse well with people as well as my ability to deal with high pressure situations.
I hope you consider me for any jobs in the media and communications field however, I also love challenging myself with new experiences and would be enthusiastic to pursue any avenues that you would consider a good fit for me.
