In my first year of studies at La Trobe University in 2015, I obtained a score of 95 and 91 for Chinese in Semesters 1 and 2 respectively. For all the other subjects I have undertaken so far I have attained above average grades (five A's and three B's). At the end of my first and second year of studies, I was granted the New Colombo Plan Scholarship to undertake short exchange programs at National Chung-Hsing University in Taiwan and East China Normal University in Shanghai.
I have had a great interest in language learning and communication skills in cross-cultural settings. In fact, it was the main reason I chose to major in Chinese and Asian Studies in my undergraduate studies. The experience of studying overseas has definitely enhanced my bilingual capabilities and deepened my understanding of both the Western and Asian cultures. I strongly believe that these skills and knowledge which are imperative in the modern workforce will greatly increase my employment opportunities in the future.
