About Allison
Hi, I’m Allison. I am a second year Bachelor of Communications and Media (Dean’s Scholar) student at the University of Wollongong.
I love to travel and flying light aircraft (in my spare time I am studying to get my Private Pilot Licence)!
Through volunteer work as the Videography Manager with Team UOW (Solar Decathlon Middle East), and a Digital Content Producer at UOWTV Multimedia, I have gained a diverse range of technical skills in media, including social media, marketing, film and audio production. These projects, alongside my minors in Creative Writing and Technical Theatre have built my practical skills in film and audio production, allowing me to take projects from the initial conception, to a completed final work that is engaging to others and helps to grow a brand.
I have some experience with startups both through Team UOW and the RAMP Mentoring Program, where I was paired with the founder of a startup company. These opportunities have given me a unique insight into what is involved with running a startup or small company, and helped me build my analytical, administrative and planning skills, and also personal and team organisation.
I am a good communicator with varied experience in public speaking, and can work with people from different cultural backgrounds. This, alongside my adaptability and self management resulted in me being selected as a Student Leader for my residence.
I hold a current First Aid Certificate, Mental Health First Aid Certificate and NSW White Card.
