About Amy
Hi! I'm Amy, and I'm a 3rd year Bachelor of Communications student at RMIT University.
The interdisciplinary nature of my degree has equipped me with skills from various fields. These include public relations, journalism, advertising and media. I chose to major in Public Relations in my second year and haven't looked back since.
My major in Public Relations has prepared me well for the specific field through courses such as Contemporary Approaches to Media and Communication, Foundations of PR, Intro to Advertising, Networked Media, Managing a Communication Business, Communication Strategy & Planning, and Contemporary PR Research. I'm also proficient in the latest versions of Mac OS X, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media outlets such as Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Tumblr, and WordPress. Along with my university experience, my real-world experience has helped me develop strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, to be organised and punctual, and attentive to detail.
In my spare time, you can find me writing or volunteering at events. I'm a contributing writer for popular culture website Gigamov and a long-time volunteer at two of Australia's biggest popular culture events Supanova and Oz Comic-Con.
