Hello! I'm Paxton. I am a third-year Bachelor of Environments Student from the University of Melbourne and am majoring in Environmental Geography.
I am a passionate, caring, outgoing and genuine person who works incredibly hard at the things I commit to. I have high expectations of myself, and I love to learn and improve. I have excellent grades at university, having received all H1/HD grades in my latest semester. Furthermore, I incorporate intellectual and physical challenges into everything I do, including my hobbies of playing cello and sports. I have achieved very high standards in both music and sport because I always push myself to be excellent.
My main academic interests include ecotourism, post-conflict aid and development, global and local inequality, environmental governance, and sustainable development and practice. What you can probably tell from my interests is that I want to make the world a better place, both for people and the environment! I am hoping to find meaningful work that will allow me to contribute to the betterment of the world in any way.
I love working with people and animals, I enjoy the outdoors and getting my hands dirty, but I'm also excellent with computers. I am a good team member, as I have learned to be playing basketball and in group assignment at University. However, when required, I can also be an assertive, considerate and effective leader, as I have discovered through my role as house captain at Geelong Grammar School, and as rowing coach and academic tutor.
