1.	Qualifications and Relevant Experience
I am finishing up my last semester of Bachelor’s Degree in Civil & Infrastructure (Honours). This degree will be fully recognized by the Institution of Engineers, Australia. I have various asset management experience. 
I am currently working as Asset Engineer in the Department of Assets and Capital Delivery, Darebin City Council, Victoria. I am the member of team to ensure the Council’s road assets are well maintained under Council’s Road Asset Management Plan (RAMP). Besides Road, I am also involved in inspection for defects of footpaths, shared paths, drainage assets as kerbs, pits, inlets, GPT, detention ponds etc.
I have gained a valuable experience in preparation and implementation of varies asset management plans. I have prepared reports, strategies and plans for a variety of assets. I have used computerised recording and reporting systems.
I am using Council’s Asset Management System CAMS with the integration of IntraMaps GIS and Pathway customer request system. As a Civil/Asset Engineer in Darebin City Council, I have gained knowledge and experience in Asset Management system, Principles and their relations to reporting requirements. 
I am involved in inspection of roads, footpaths and other assets of council, assessing the defects and risks associated and perform their condition rating as per council’s inspection guidelines. 

2.	Demonstrated knowledge of road and bridge maintenance including associated assets such as footpaths.
I am currently working as Asset Engineer in the Department of Assets and Capital Delivery, Darebin City Council, Victoria. I am the member of team to ensure the Council’s road assets are well maintained under Council’s Road Asset Management Plan (RAMP). My responsibility is to ensure that council’s assets are safe for public or users. As a part of this inspection, data recording, prioritizing of task followed by maintenance is carried out in a series. I am involved in assessing the cause of the defect and providing the solution for the maintenance of various damaged roads and footpaths.
Recently, I have worked at a site where a section of road need to be maintained due to fatigue cracking. During our site investigation, we found that it was due to weak subgrade caused by poor drainage in the roadbed. For maintenance, we instructed our contractor to pull out kerb and channel and dig up to the sub-grade level to prepare subgrade, put new base and surface course of the road pavement and put back the kerb and channel. We instructed the contractor to place a drainage line with side entry and junction pits. In addition to that, we instructed him to protect the adjacent council assets during construction and match up all alignments and levels. As a result of quick response maintenance was carried out on time and road was made safe for traffic. 

3.	Demonstrated ability to assess and prioritise road defects or those of other assets.
As an Asset Engineer in Darebin City Council, I am responsible for carrying out the active and I reactive inspection for roads, footpaths, shared paths, drainage assets as kerbs, pits, inlets, GPT, detention ponds etc. I am the member of team to ensure the Council’s road assets are well maintained under Council’s Road Management Plan (RAMP). I am actively involved in the inspections of defects of roads with the aid of advance GIS handheld tool. The handheld tool is used to record the information of the defects when found, and the data is then extracted and updated into Council’s Asset Management System – Hansen 8. The inspection is followed by performing the condition rating as per council’s inspection guidelines. The condition rating is carried on the basis of defects and risk associated with it.
Recently, I have worked at a site where there was a service request for inspection in Collector Road. During our site inspection, we found that there was a pot hole of more than 55mm depth. I collected the data and took photos. After the inspection, I created the work order and updated the details in the council systems. The road type was collector road so 3 months’ time was allocated for the performance repair. The pothole was more than 50mm depth which was hazardous to traffic so it needed a temporary repair. The temporary work order was forwarded to the contractor to carry out the work and permanent work order was updated in the system. The temporary work was carried out and the road was made safe for traffic movement.

4.	Understanding of Road Management Act and Council’s Road Management Plan along with issues arising.
I possess a strong knowledge in various acts such as OHS (Occupational Health and Safety), Road Management Acts, Road Management Plan and any other acts which related to workplace. I have acquired these skills during my professional course and day to day work in Darebin City Council. I have used road management acts for asset management at Darebin City Council for asset management.
As an Asset Engineer at City of Darebin I use Road Management Plan 2017, which is prepared in accordance with section 52 of the Road Management Act 2014 (RMA). I am aware that this Road Management Act establishes the general principals which apply to road management and sets out certain rights and duties of road users and authorities. I have gained good knowledge in their principles, policies, and strategies. I am always updated with the change in policies and laws so that I can address every issues that rose during my work. I am also a quick and enthusiastic learner and always stay updated with any changes in legislations or any other and apply quickly at workplace.

5.	Demonstrated ability in the use of computerised recording systems including asset management systems.
The responsibilities in my current role at Darebin City Council are to support the integration of Asset Management System (CAMS/Hansen8) and GIS system to assist the development of strategies for maintenance, refurbishment, and renewal of assets. During my work at Darebin City Council, I have been in several stages in asset management processes. For data analysing, collection, recording and reporting I am using Council’s Asset Management System CAMS/Hansen8 with the integration of IntraMaps GIS and Pathway customer request system. As an Asset/Civil Engineer in Darebin City Council, I have gained knowledge and experience in Asset Management Principles and their relations to reporting requirements and I have used different asset management and maintenance plans such as Road Asset Management Plan. I have gained good knowledge in their principles, policies and strategies. 
I am creating and closing work orders, resolving service requests and entering contractors’ details, resource usages (labour/material/plant equipment details) for work orders, compliance with the Road Asset Management Plan. I am also responsible for digitising assets (location base and attributes) in existing asset management modules; currently digitise unmapped footpaths on “Foot Path Inspection” Module (IntraMaps Mobile Solution) using MapInfo and NearMap aerial images.
6.	 Demonstrated ability to delivery work on time and in accordance with programs.
In my previous role as a student engineer, I was involved in survey, design and construction supervision of Road and drainage structures. In one of the projects; I was in charge of access road project. The completion of the access road on time was important as this road would provide access to the main construction site from the feeder road, the mobilisation of project resources would depend upon the completion of the road. The area was geographically harsh and remote. I set out a work schedule to finish task within 3 months; before the beginning of monsoon season which literally halts construction activities in that part of the world. To accomplish the task at first I identified available resources and allocated them to complete tasks as per the Work Break Structure. I designated the roles and responsibilities to the project staff. I set out milestones for every week. I held staff meetings to review weekly progress and took corrective actions when necessary.  My team was able to accomplish the road project two weeks before the deadline and well within the budgetary limit. My employer was able not only to mobilise their resources earlier but they also saved a significant sum as the project was completed well before deadline.
