IDEAFest is an annual start-up pitch competition held by Haas Business School in Berkeley. We successfully pitched to alumni entrepreneurs a sustainable solution transforming how local communities cook and eat. Beginning with a business model canvas, we conducted quantitative and qualitative market research on student populations in Berkeley before establishing partnerships with local chefs.

Wayne is a Doctor of Medicine student at The University of Melbourne with a passion for healthcare, education and social impact. He completed a Bachelor of Biomedicine on a Melbourne National Scholarship graduating on the Dean's Honours List. He has served as President of Strive Student Health Initiative and on the Executive Team of Change x Unzipped. Committed to developing a global perspective, Wayne has also completed studies at the University of California (Berkeley) and has worked as an honorary research affiliate at The University of Tokyo on a Summer Research Scholarship and at The Royal Children’s Hospital (Melbourne). He is the recipient of several scholarships and prizes including the Dr Susan Lim Medical Scholarship (Trinity College), Leaders in Communities Award (Melbourne), Evan Burge Entrance Scholarship (Trinity College) and the T. F. Ryan Roentgen Prize for Physics (Melbourne).

Strive is a not-for-profit organisation, focusing on public health, that aims to improve accessibility to healthcare for those most in need and empowering them through health education. As President, I provide leadership, global direction and ensure Strive is run according to its constitution and vision. I oversee 5 committees: Clinic, Community Engagement, Finance, Marketing and Operations.

I am currently leading two research projects based at The Royal Children’s Hospital, Western Health and Alfred Health. Projects include: (1) Long-Term Clinical Outcomes in Single Ventricle Patients without Fontan Operation: A Multi-Centre Study; (2) Characteristics & Short-term Clinical Outcomes in Patients Presenting with Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest due to a Shockable Rhythm in the Era of PCI.

During my internship, I authored and published an article on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Investing for high-net-worth clients. I also researched responsible investment products for a ESG Model Portfolio suite, aiming to provide a ‘best of breed’ multi-asset investment portfolio to both retail and wholesale clients in Australia surrounding a particular ESG theme.
