About Danielle
I'm Dani - an environmental consultant, marine scientist and climate justice advocate from Kingston, Jamaica. My work specializes in sustainable environmental management. I got my Masters in Marine Biology and Ecology after transitioning from a 9-year telecoms career in the Caribbean and Central America, to studying on the Great Barrier Reef. Since then, I have worked in the Caribbean, Australia and the Philippines, helping people, communities and businesses to build their resilience to environmental injustice and the climate crisis. I was recently awarded a PhD research scholarship to James Cook University to study with The Cairns Institute, looking at risk perception and intersectionality in plannning for ecosystem restoration interventions.
I will always fight for the protection of the environment and people, and that is at the core of my personal and professional values. I firmly believe environmental justice = social justice = climate justice = gender+reproductive justice etc.
I love a nice, strong cup of black coffee, a good podcast and any time I get to spend outside. I'm also a sustainable fashion baddie who loves thrifting.
